Thyme-IT provides Intrastat solution

Revenue are currently in the process of upgrading their Intrastat systems. This is for the following reasons:

  • Current hardware and software that has been in place since 1993
  • Withdrawal of EDIFACT as a messaging format for submission of Intrastat data
  • The existing system is to be replaced with an XML solution. The Intrastat XML schema has been published on the ROS website (www.ros.ie) defining the xml messages.
  • Output messages can now be uploaded to ROS using Digital Certification.

Revenue will continue to process EDIFACT messages in the short-term, however their concern is that where amendments to reporting requirements are made at EU level, they may not be in a position to implement these in the EDIFACT message. The proposed changes will be operational as and from June 1st 2009.

Following meetings with many of our customers, Thyme-IT will now provide an Intrastat solution that conforms to the new standard and rules. If you have an existing Intrastat solution or use a current paper system, contact Thyme-IT to discuss the new requirements.
