From the 5th December 2008 all digital certificates issued by ROS will have the new Base64 encoded password format. This means that:
- all new certificates issued by ROS will include the Base64 encoded password format
- all renewed certificates issued by ROS will include the Base64 encoded password format
- it will only be possible to renew a certificate that already uses the Base64encoded format
This represents phase 2 of the change to the ROS digital certificate password format. All changes that will go live are currently available in the ROS Public interface environment (https://rospublictest.ros.ie).
As a reminder, any certificate (including PIT certs) can be updated to the Base64 encoded format by attempting to log in to the ROS Live site (http://www.ros.ie).
Please ensure that all software that submits Customs returns to ROS is capable of supporting this new password format.
